West Suffolk Council has launched a free energy advice survey program for residents in West Suffolk. The initiative is designed to help homeowners, private renters and landlords assess their energy usage and identify ways to reduce costs, while contributing to a more sustainable future. The Healthy Homes Advisor at West Suffolk Council will be conducting the survey and recommending energy efficient measures and potential energy grants and schemes applicants may be eligible for. From the advice given during the survey, participants will be able to plan their retrofit journey to make their home more energy efficient whilst reducing energy bills. It can also help tackle climate change by reducing carbon emissions and fuel poverty by lessening the use of heating systems.
Cllr Donna Higgins, Cabinet Member for Families and Communities, said: “The Council is very much aware that the cost-of-living crisis continues to be felt by our residents. We are constantly looking at ways we can support our communities and vulnerable residents to find ways of alleviating the effects of the crisis and reducing bills where possible. The free energy advice survey is just one of these ways, and I urge people to consider taking part as there is vital help available to prepare for the upcoming winter and for years into the future.
